Eligible* Christian and Missionary Alliance pastors and licensed workers can apply for a grant up to $2,500. The grants are intended to help licensed workers reduce personal economic pressure as described below.

Usage: The grant funds can be used by the licensed worker or pastor to pay down needs for true urgent financial needs including medical debt, credit card debt, mortgage loans facing collections, overdue utilities, necessary home or vehicle repairs, and/or (later in the program) to increase retirement savings and in the final year, increase emergency savings. The grant funds cannot be used for ministries in the church, church building repair, or other church-related expenses. Funds cannot be used for current educational expenses and/or tuition.  

*Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a current licensed worker of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.
  • The worker’s church must be accredited with and participating with The US Christian and Missionary Alliance.
  • Licensed workers must have at least one year of LICENSED service in their CURRENT Alliance Church.
  • The church should have one year of aliation and at least 6 months of contribution history to The Alliance.
  • The church should have record of giving to the Great Commission Fund within in the recent reporting period.
  • Licensed workers cannot be currently employed or contracted in a regular role with The Alliance National Office. 
  • Licensed workers must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or R1 Visa legal official workers assigned to churches.  
  • Multiple licensed workers from the same church may receive assistance.
  • Because financial hardships can occur more than once, pastors may receive up to two Pastoral Financial Health Grants, provided the awards are at least 12 months apart. 
  • One application for assistance or hardship per household will be accepted at at time and/or within that 12 month period if it is for the same financial hardship need.
  • Licensed workers will be vetted by their District before their application moves to the next stages. 

 Purpose: Financial health and fiscal leadership skills are essential to a ministry leader’s ability to lead effectively in their home and in the church. The Pastoral Financial Health Initiative is a learning opportunity for licensed workers, church leaders and pastors to increase fiscal leadership and stewardship skills and equips pastors with the financial tools needed for long-term ministry.
